[ yang doesn't panic at the first few unanswered texts. she tends to send rapid fire messages, anyway, and blake's taking it easy on her day off. she's probably up in in their room, tuning out the world as she powers through another novel.

it's somewhere around the half an hour mark with no replies and no indication they've been that worries her. like, it's fine, they're safe here. but she can't shake the prickling feeling that crawls its way up her spine. the radio silence is too much like the one in argus where yang had waited and waited and then was almost too late to save her.

she calls after pulling into the parking lot at hart mart and frowns when she gets the voicemail. okay, she'll just leave a message. no worries.

"Hey! You're probably busy or something, but I'm at the store. Text me what kind of tea you want. Maybe I'll pick up one of those salmon steaks you can just put in the oven, too? That way we can't mess it up too badly, ha. Anyway....

Call me back? I.... Talk to ya soon."

she's antsy in hart mart. constantly checking her fluid, tapping her foot and absently rubbing her thumb along the bottlecap in her pocket. blake is fine. everything's fine. so why can't she stop freaking out?

when blake calls, yang picks up on the first ring.

Blake, [ she says in a rush, concern and relief coloring her tone. ] Hey. Everything alright?
